Metro Brands and Crocs India announce the renewal of their partnership agreement, granting Metro Brands exclusive rights to operate and own Crocs “full price” stores across western and southern states in India.
Metro Brands Limited (MBL) has announced the extension of its partnership with Crocs India Limited (CIL), a global leader in innovative casual footwear. The renewal is sealed through a retail partnership agreement, with notable changes including granting MBL exclusive rights to operate and own Crocs “full price” stores across the western and southern states in India. Additionally, the agreement extends the residual balance term of the contract. MBL will also retain rights to continue, renew, and operate all existing stores currently operational in Northern and Eastern states of India.
The partnership between MBL and CIL began in 2008 with the introduction of Crocs’ products within MBL multi-brand outlets. In 2015, the partnership deepened with the signing of a nonexclusive retail license agreement, allowing MBL to distribute Crocs products in India. This alignment with MBL’s mission of bringing global brands to India and offering a dynamic retail experience has led to the operation of over 200 exclusive Crocs stores across India.
Sumit Dhingra, VP & General Manager, India, Middle East & Africa, Crocs, expressed appreciation for Metro Brands’ role in elevating Crocs’ presence in India. He praised Metro Brands for translating Crocs’ unique value proposition of self-expression, personalization, and iconic comfort into a resonating retail experience for Indian consumers. He highlighted Metro Brands’ dedication to delivering a world-class retail experience and owning customers’ footwear wardrobe. Joseph expressed confidence in the exciting future ahead with Crocs.
Within the MBL family, several brands, including iconic Indian labels like Metro Shoes, Mochi, and Walkway, along with popular international choices like Crocs and FitFlop, have thrived. Recently, MBL announced a strategic partnership with US-based footwear giant Foot Locker, further solidifying its position in the market. With Fila already on board, MBL aims to elevate the sportswear culture in India.
