The motive of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is to provide 300 free units of electricity to one crore households in the country. The citizens who want the rooftop solar installed on their houses may follow these steps to apply online.
Step 1: Register in the PM Surya Ghar Yojana portal with the following Steps
- Visit the website pmsuryaghar.gov.in
- Click on the link “Apply for Rooftop Solar”
- Register in the portal with the following
- Select your State
- Select your Electricity Distribution Company
- Enter your Electricity Consumer Number
- Enter Mobile Number
- Enter Email
- Please follow the directions from the portal
Step 2
- Login with Consumer Number & Mobile Number
- Apply for the Rooftop Solar as per the form
Step 3
- Once you get the feasibility approval, get the plant installed by any of the registered vendors in your DISCOM
Step 4
- Once installation is completed, submit the plant details and apply for a net meter
Step 5
- A commissioning certificate will be generated from the portal, after the installation of the net meter and inspection by DISCOM
Step 6
- Once you get the commissioning report. Submit the bank account details and a canceled cheque through the portal. You will receive your subsidy in your bank account within 30 days.
